Buying the Right Blender
Buying the right blender for your needs is key if you want to make delicious, healthy smoothies. I personally believe my blender is the most important counter-top tool I have in my kitchen, so I wasn't concerned about forking out over $300 for a Vita-Mix. My machine can rip apart frozen banana chunks, tear into blocks of blueberries and make all my ingredients smooth. That's the point, right? If you're serious about getting healthy with an appetite-satisfying, healthy alternative to bacon and eggs or burgers, buying a great blender is worth the investment. A powerful blender won't get stuck, won't break when you put ice in it, and won't let you down when your mouth is watering. But there are some great blenders that are cheaper than the Vita-Mix's $350+ price tag. But just like cheap vacuum cleaners, if you use them all the time, they will certainly need repairs and will cost more in the long run. Your first job is to assess if you're committed to a healthy lifestyle that includes fruit, greens, healthy oils and hidden benefits like energy and vitality. If you are, look for a Vita-Mix and pretend you're buying yourself a microwave or a dishwasher: a tool you'll use all the time and will improve your quality of life!
