I personally love spooning a very cold smoothie (similar to ice cream in its consistency) into a room temperature glass. The sides of the smoothie melt ever so slightly for a yummy texture variety. But if you like consistent texture... leave your glass in the freezer while you're preparing your smoothie. It'll be cold, cold, cold!
A great way to clean your blender is to just pour water in it with a couple of drops (no more than 2 drops!) of dish washing liquid and press "blend." Here's a video from Vita-Mix about that very topic:
